Use Your Talents Generously

I don’t think I will ever be considered a great cook.

Nor will I probably ever be able to draw beautiful pictures of art.

Those aren’t gifts I naturally possess. I wish I did, but I don’t.

But, just because I won’t be the greatest, doesn’t mean I won’t cook and I won’t draw.

For example, you may feel you “cannot sing.” If you have a voice, you can most likely sing. But just because you many not sing the best, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t at all.

Use your talentsDon’t worry about being the best.
Just use what God has given you.

If you enjoy reading, then read. Even if you don’t read the fastest.

If you enjoy writing, then write. Even if you aren’t “published.”

If you enjoy gardening, then garden. Even if your flower beds have weeds (like mine).

If you enjoy playing music, then play. Even if you don’t fit in an orchestra.

If you enjoy organizing, then organize. Even if it may take you awhile.

Just use the talents God has given you.

What talent(s) do you love using the most (even if you aren’t the best)??

Continue to use them generously!

10 Things God Won’t Ask On That Day

I came across this in the archives of my other blog, and thought it would be a great thing to share today.

(I wish I knew who wrote this so I could give the proper credit.)

TEN THINGS GOD WON’T ASK ON THAT DAY10 Things God Won't Ask On That Day

1. God won’t ask what kind of car you drove. He’ll ask how many people you drove who didn’t have transportation..

2. God won’t ask the square footage of your house, He’ll ask how many people you welcomed into your home.

3. God won’t ask about the clothes you had in your closet, He’ll ask how many you helped to clothe.

4. God won’t ask what your highest salary was. He’ll ask if you compromised your character to obtain it.

5. God won’t ask what your job title was. He’ll ask if you performed your job to the best of your ability.

6. God won’t ask how many friends you had. He’ll ask how many people to whom you were a friend.

7. God won’t ask in what neighborhood you lived, He’ll ask how you treated your neighbors.

8. God won’t ask about the color of your skin, He’ll ask about the content of your character.

9. God won’t ask why it took you so long to seek Salvation. He’ll lovingly take you to your mansion in heaven, and not to the gates of Hell.

10… God won’t have to ask how many people you shared this with. He already knows.

You Are Loved

I don’t know what kind of day you had. It may have been great, or quite possibly, not-so-great.

You may feel loved, or not-so-loved.

You may feel lovely, or maybe not-so-lovely.

Wherever you are tonight, here’s a powerful reminder to end our day:

“God loves you simply because he has chosen to do so.  He loves you when you don’t feel lovely.  He loves you when no one else loves you.  God will love you always.  No matter what.” –Max Lucado

God will love you alwaysIt’s good to be reminded.

Keep A Cheerful Heart

A cheerful heart brings a smile to your face;
a sad heart makes it hard to get through the day.
Proverbs 15:13

A cheerful heart brings a smile to your face; a sad heart makes it hard to get through the day. Proverbs 15:13Boy, isn’t this the truth??!!

We’ve all had days where our sad hearts have made it tough to get through the day.

Things in life can really bring us down. Oftentimes it’s how we react to those things that makes all the difference.

God doesn’t desire for us to have sad hearts. He desires our hearts to be cheerful.

Today, we’ll each have a choice. When life throws its stuff at us, we can either choose to stay cheerful, or choose to be sad.

Let’s do what we can to stay cheerful. To look on the bright side of things. To see the good in the bad. To stay hopeful and content. To trust that everything is going to work out.

And while we’re at it, let’s do what we can to cheer someone else up or cheer someone else on in his or her life!

Wishing you a cheerful heart kind-of-day!
