Life can get too serious.
There is much to do. Deadlines to meet. Commitments to keep. Late nights and early mornings.
There are bills to pay. Lunches to pack. Groceries to purchase.
Our to-do list is long, and we wonder some days if we’ll ever catch up.
It’s time for a break.
Sometimes we just need to smile.
And maybe, to laugh out loud.
A new segment on the blog begins today…
It’s where we hit the pause button for a moment. We take a few minutes out of the craziness to intentionally smile, to laugh, to infuse some joy back into our lives.
Here’s the first edition.
This brought a smile to my face, and I hope it does the same for you!
Enjoy on your Saturday (or any day for that matter)!
I came across this lighthearted encouragement for moms.
May it bless you and make you smile as much as it did me!
Ten Commandments For Mothers
Thou shalt drive the car pool to the ends of the earth.
Thou shalt find the missing sock.
Thou shalt cut both pieces of cake EXACTLY the same size.
Thou shalt NOT get sick when the kids do.
Thou shalt answer questions about geography, long division, and where babies come from.
Thou shalt walk slowly and carry a big purse.
Thou shalt stop on the highway to rescue the turtle… and give the kids raw hot dogs to feed it.
Thou shalt smile through a zillion recitals and ball games.
Thou shalt not admit thou art related to–much less kiss–thine adolescent in public.
Thou shalt give thyself time to relax and enjoy life.
What makes you smile?
A beautiful sunrise?
A breathtaking sunset?
A good cup of coffee?
Your spouse? Your children?
We have three new farm kittens that are a couple months old, and watching them play together on our back patio has been making me smile a lot lately. Pouncing, jumping, rolling around. They’ve caused me to laugh out loud on more than one occasion.
It feels good to smile, and to laugh, doesn’t it?
Today, I encourage you to smile. To do something that brings a grin to your beautiful/handsome face. To laugh out loud.
Let’s lighten our load a little today. And while we’re at it, let’s cause another to smile too.
Have a smile-filled day!
A cheerful heart brings a smile to your face;
a sad heart makes it hard to get through the day.
Boy, isn’t this the truth??!!
We’ve all had days where our sad hearts have made it tough to get through the day.
Things in life can really bring us down. Oftentimes it’s how we react to those things that makes all the difference.
God doesn’t desire for us to have sad hearts. He desires our hearts to be cheerful.
Today, we’ll each have a choice. When life throws its stuff at us, we can either choose to stay cheerful, or choose to be sad.
Let’s do what we can to stay cheerful. To look on the bright side of things. To see the good in the bad. To stay hopeful and content. To trust that everything is going to work out.
And while we’re at it, let’s do what we can to cheer someone else up or cheer someone else on in his or her life!
Wishing you a cheerful heart kind-of-day!
